General info

Dr Michael Suen received his undergraduate degree from the University of New South Wales. He completed a Master of Surgery in Colorectal Surgery from the University of Sydney in Year 2010, with his dissertation focused in the management of bowel obstruction from bowel cancer using colonic stents. He obtained further fellowship training via the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) in advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery and pelvic floor management. He has particular interest in bowel cancer screening and management, defaecatory disorders such as faecal incontinence and obstructive defeacation, and minimally invasive treatment for haemorrhoids and other proctological conditions.

Dr Suen is a senior lecturer in the University of Sydney and supervisor in surgical training in teaching hospitals. He is a committee member of the Australian Chinese Medical Association and actively participates in public health education in the Chinese community.​
