Associate Professor Vincent Lam is a consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Transplant surgeon at Norwest Private HospitalSydney Adventist HospitalWestmead Private Hospital and Westmead Hospital. He graduated from The University of Sydney in 1998 and completed general surgical training in Sydney in 2006.

Post-fellowship, Professor Lam spent two years training in hepatobiliary, pancreatic and transplant surgery at Westmead Hospital, Sydney and at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong which is a renowned centre for liver cancer, live-donor liver transplantation and laparoscopic surgery.

Professor Lam was the first graduate of the Doctorate of Clinical Surgery at the University of Sydney in 2013 with his thesis titled “Extending the frontiers of surgical resection of colorectal liver metastases”. In the same year, Professor Lam was promoted to Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Sydney.

Professor Lam holds a number of senior administrative positions at Westmead Hospital including Deputy Chair of Medical Staff Council Hospital, Supervisor of Surgical Training in General Surgery, Head of Acute Surgical Unit and Director of Intestinal Failure Unit. He is also the current President of the Australian Chinese Medical Association, Head of Surgery at Norwest Private Hospital, Treasurer of the Australian and New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic & Biliary Association and Committee Member of the NSW Training Board in General Surgery.

Professor Lam has special interests in minimally invasive surgery (including Robotic Surgery) of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas and spleen as well as the surgical management of liver, pancreas and bile duct cancer.
