I am a general surgeon with subspecialty training in breast cancer surgery as well as trauma/surgical critical care.
My surgical training was initially at Royal North Shore Hospital and then at Westmead and Nepean Hospitals. After completing the general surgery training program, I undertook further subspecialty training. A year was spent at Harborview Medical Centre in Seattle, Washington, USA, completing a fellowship in trauma/surgical critical care. Subsequent to this, a breast cancer surgery fellowship was completed at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute. During the breast fellowship, experience was gained in multi-disciplinary cancer care as well as advanced surgical techniques including immediate breast reconstruction, therapeutic mammoplasty and mastopexy.
My public appointment is at Westmead Hospital, as the Director of Trauma, and also as a consultant surgeon at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute.
In addition, I am a VMO at Macquarie University Hospital, Norwest Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital. My consulting rooms are at the Macquarie University Clinic.
Although my elective subspecialty is breast cancer surgery, I also manage general surgical conditions such as biliary disease, herniae, etc. In addition, I am also happy to review any benign breast disease.
Any breast referrals may be made to either the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute (Ph: 0298458888 Fax: 0298458334) or the Macquarie University Clinic (Ph: 0298878899 Fax: 0298878800). In addition, any general surgical referrals may be made to the Macquarie University Clinic.
