I am a general and laparoscopic surgeon with a colorectal interest. My scope of work and interest including laparoscopic colectomies, benign perianal surgery, laparoscopic hernia repairs, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, endoscopies and colonoscopies, and minor operations for lumps and bumps.
I graduated from the Graduate Medical Program at University of Sydney, and also completed a Master of Surgery (Colorectal) through Sydney University. I trained through the western Sydney surgical network, including Westmead, Nepean and Hawkesbury hospitals. I also further trained as a fellow at Nepean Acute Surgery Unit, Royal Melbourne Colorectal unit and Advanced laparoscopic colorectal fellow at Colchester NHS Trust, UK.
I am affiliated with Stathfield Private Hospital (for private patients), Hawkesbury (for both public and private patients), and Norwest private hospital. I also has a particular interest in diverticulitis and bowel involvement in endometriosis.
I am a senior instructor for the Ccrisp course (Care of the critically ill surgical patient – a Royal Australasian College of Surgeons skills course), and I am also a clinical lecturer for School of Medicine, The University of Notre Dame.
Dr Yen is fluent in Mandarin and Hokkien in addition to English.
